An eventful day...

Awaking with the assurance that that today would be both historic and glorious, I was filled with hope.

Hope in my God, hope in my country and hope in a man named Barack Obama.

Today, was the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States of America. The dawn of a new era, the fulfillment of hopes and dreams. A day when all Americans should be proud that history is being made in a profoundly important way.

We must walk together and see the human dignity that our founding fathers proclaimed. Lincoln reminded those at Gettyburg that we were (and are) a country “conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.”

We must recognize our own dignity and the dignity of our neighbors. People, see the equality, see how we are one as a human race. Live in a way that demonstrates our connectedness to one another.

Me waiting for my second MRI in 24 hours, don't I look hopeful?

(all pictures today were taken with my lovely Samsung Instinct phone)

Today I also fell in love with the adorable Rev. Joseph Lowery,
who at age 87
is quite the whipper snapper.

Hear him below deliver the Inauguration benediction for President Obama~

We are not just united and standing,
We are now United and Standing for Something!
